Spirit Halloween Expands to Christmas with Immersive Peppermint Village
Spirit Halloween's CEO, Steven Silverstein, has revealed plans to expand the festive spirit with the launch of Spirit Christmas. This new venture aims to replicate the success of its Halloween stores, offering a unique retail experience for the holiday season. With 30 pop-up locations in the Northeast and Great Lakes region this year, Spirit Christmas is set to capture the spirit of the season.
Spirit Christmas will debut in October 2024 with 10 locations, testing its concept before a full-scale launch in 2025. The stores will offer a festive atmosphere, complete with a Peppermint Village featuring interactive displays, gifts, apparel, and decor. Guests can also enjoy free visits with Santa at select locations and pay for family photo sessions.
The expansion comes as holiday retail sales are projected to grow 4% this year, slightly below the 10-year average. However, in-store holiday sales are expected to grow 2.75% year over year, indicating a strong demand for physical retail experiences. Halloween spending, which Spirit Halloween has long capitalized on, is expected to hit a record $13.1 billion this year, further demonstrating the potential for a festive retail concept year-round.
Spirit Christmas, with its immersive Peppermint Village and festive offerings, is poised to become a popular holiday destination. With nearly quadrupled footprint from last year and 30 pop-up locations this season, the new venture is set to bring joy and festivity to shoppers across the Northeast and Great Lakes region.
