Spokesperson for Beiersdorf transitions to Fresenius company.
Anke Schmidt, a seasoned communications professional, has been appointed as the new Head of Corporate Communications at healthcare giant Fresenius, effective June 1, 2025. Schmidt will succeed Dennis Hofmann, who has been leading the global communications at Fresenius since September 2022 and has chosen to leave the company.
Schmidt has served as Global Vice President Corporate Communications & Government Relations at Hamburg-based consumer goods company Beiersdorf since September 2020. Prior to that, she spent nearly a quarter of a century in various leadership roles in communication, government relations, and human resources at BASF, both domestically and internationally. From 2016 to 2020, she held a similar role at the BASF Group.
Fresenius, listed on the Dax, is headquartered in Bad Homburg and operates in the healthcare sector. The appointment of Schmidt to the position comes as the company continues to expand and solidify its global presence. The departure of Dennis Hofmann from the company was by his own request.
Anke Schmidt's extensive experience in communication, government relations, and business, notably at consumer goods company Beiersdorf and chemical giant BASF, will undoubtedly play a crucial role as she assumes her new position at Fresenius, the healthcare sector’s expanding Dax-listed company. In this role, she will oversee finance-related communications, aligning corporate communications with the company's business objectives.
