Started in a garage, the company expanded to employ 200 people.

In the heart of Altentreptow, Komesker Corporate Group rolls out the red carpet for an open day event syncing perfectly with the district's Energy Day. The Komesker Plant Engineering GmbH campus buzzed, welcoming over a thousand guests keen to delve into the realm of renewables.

A broad spectrum in the renewable energy scene

Managing Director Manfred Komesker, who kickstarted the company in a garage back in '90, offered jam-packed insight on their activities in the renewable energy industry. Today, the Komesker family boasts 200 dynamic minds spread across four locations. Thomas Müller, second deputy district administrator, lauded the event: "Entrepreneurs like Komesker set the tone for our region."

Witnessing state-of-the-art tech prowess

Guests got a glimpse of the entire fleet, showcasing advanced technology and partnerships. A medium voltage power plant, supplied by the energy provider, was proudly displayed. Johannes Komesker and Stephan Schmidt walked visitors through the civil engineering measures and connection installation processes.

Sebastian Mann presented a low voltage switchgear aimed at the Anklam sugar factory. Komesker handles the planning, assembly, cabling, and documentation for the project. They even built a shiny copper heart with a couple of younger guests—a testament to the joy the work brings!

Enercon, known for whipping up wind turbines, was at the event alongside employees Paul Haack and Peter Scheibel. They shared Komesker's involvement in multiple wind farms, and even arranged a tour of the Altentreptow-Ost wind farm for curious visitors.

Engaging the young minds

While the grown-ups were captivated by cutting-edge tech, the youngsters reveled in bouncy castles, giant slides, and mini-excavator rides. The crane even offered hot air balloon rides, and the Altentreptow dance club performed, ensuring everyone had a blast.

Visitors like Nicole Geidelt and her daughter Nele expressed their appreciation for the family-friendly event. Little Nele was busy being made up by Franzi Gau, while ten-year-old Tim and seven-year-old Willi proudly showed off their copper heart creation. Retirees Annelore Bode and Klaus-Dieter Fechner also joined in, marveling at the meticulous energy efficiency provided by Komesker.

The creative upcycling competition

A small exhibition showcased artworks by students from Altentreptow Comprehensive School and Tützpatz Regional School, all focused on the theme of upcycling. For their fantastic work, Manfred Komesker, Mayor Claudia Ellgoth, and State Parliamentarian Marc Reinhardt rewarded each participant. As Manfred put it: "The results were regional and passionate."
