Station closure at Johanneskirche, lasting from the 10th to the 16th of September
The city of Arnsberg has announced that the much-anticipated bus stop upgrade works at Johanneskirche Neheim, located on Neheimer Markt Straße 11-15, are set to enter a new phase. The works, which are part of the city's 2025/2026 funding program for barrier-free bus stop expansion, include the expansion of the bus stop from a single stop to a double stop.
Initially, the planned passenger shelters for the upgraded bus stop were not delivered and installed during the construction phase. However, the city has now revealed that the installation of these shelters will take place from September 10 to September 16, 2025.
To keep traffic restrictions to a minimum, 'small Schobbostraße' was reopened for two-way traffic during the construction phase. However, during the passenger shelter installation phase, 'small Schobbostraße' will not be reopened for two-way traffic. The city asks passengers and residents to understand the unavoidable inconveniences caused by these works.
The bus stop upgrade works, including the passenger shelter installation, are scheduled to be completed by August 2025. However, the full closure of the area around the upgraded bus stop will occur during the installation of the passenger shelters.
Simultaneously with the passenger shelter installation, the final work on the sidewalk surfaces will be done. The manufacturer of the planned passenger halls at the barrier-free bus station Johanneskirche Neheim is not publicly specified.
The city also asks passengers and residents to bear with the unavoidable inconveniences caused by the bus stop upgrade works. The works are expected to improve the accessibility and comfort of using public transportation in the city. The upgraded bus stop at Johanneskirche Neheim is set to reopen by September 16, 2025, providing a more efficient and barrier-free transportation experience for all.
