Street Construction Site on New Street to Impose Lockdown Extending to Buxtehuder Street

Get ready for New Street updates in Harburg, y'all! Construction work is moving to the next level, starting Monday, January 6. A fresh chunk of New Street, spanning from house no. 53 to Buxtehuder Street, will undergo a complete overhaul under full closure.
Remember the closure down the cobblestone street since early November? That's been from roadworks on the first section, which received smoother cobblestones way back in 2020. Now, it's time for the rest of New Street to follow suit! 🌐🚧
For the duration of the works, car access to Lämmertwiete from New Street will be cut off. Residents, be sure to plan for alternative routes for your vehicles. Pedestrians, on the other hand, can rest easy knowing you'll have guaranteed passage.
You'll still be able to drive onto New Street from both sides, with no left or right turns allowed in the construction zone. Don't worry, both pedestrians and cyclists will be guided safely through the work site. Cyclists, though, may need to hop off their bikes for a moment and roll 'em along the sidewalk. 🚴️♂️
This revamp includes exchanging paving stones on the roadway for better drivability, as well as the replacement of some drainage pipes.
