Shift in Leadership at Schwan-Stabilo: New Executive Appointments Announced - Swan-Stabilo's Leadership Shuffle

Schwan-Stabilo, a family-owned company based in Heroldsberg, Germany, announced the succession of its CEO. Effective October, Italian executive Michele Molon will assume leadership of the writing instruments, cosmetics, and outdoor products manufacturer. Current CEO, Sebastian Schwanhäußer, will transition to the family council.

Schwanhäußer, who has served as CEO since 2019 and joined the company in 1996, has overseen the expansion of the group's portfolio to include outdoor brands such as Ortovox, Deuter, and Gonso in addition to writing instruments and cosmetics. With an annual turnover of 800 million euros and approximately 5,000 employees, the group is led by the fifth generation under Schwanhäußer's leadership.

Schwanhäußer has chosen to initiate a planned generational change with his resignation. "A timely change is better than a late one, in my opinion. With this decision, we create space for fresh impulses and the necessary renewal," he stated.

Molon, a seasoned executive, most recently held significant positions at Swarovski and is now CEO of the Schwan-Stabilo Group. Specific details regarding his background and plans for the company have not been widely disclosed. Existing reports focus on Molon’s appointment, providing limited information on Schwanhäußer's future within Schwan-Stabilo. The transition marks a significant generational shift, with Molon set to guide the company into its next phase.

Schwan-Stabilo is implementing changes in both their community policy and employment policy as they transition from the leadership of Sebastian Schwanhäußer, who has overseen the company's expanding business since 1996, to the new CEO, Michele Molon. Despite the generational shift, the group continues to maintain a focus on finance and growth, with an annual turnover of 800 million euros and approximately 5,000 employees.
