Taxi, Rental Car Leaders Meet with Minister President to Address Sector Challenges

Guido Sembach, President of the Taxi and Rental Car Association of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, recently addressed the sector's challenges at the IHK Neubrandenburg economic reception. Both parties agreed to continue discussions to find concrete solutions for the taxi and car rental sector in the region.

Sembach met with Minister President Manuela Schwesig to discuss alleviating regulatory burdens and structural challenges, particularly in patient transport financing. This is crucial as insufficient funding threatens the mobility of vulnerable individuals in rural areas.

Michael Oppermann, General Manager of the Federal Association of Taxi and Rental Car, stressed the importance of constructive dialogue with politics to address industry issues. Sembach echoed this sentiment, warning about increasing regulation and lack of fair competition conditions, which put many operators in the car rental industry at risk.

Both parties agreed to continue the conversation to develop concrete solutions for the taxi and car rental sector in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The next steps will focus on alleviating regulatory burdens and improving patient transport financing to ensure the mobility of vulnerable individuals.
