The bank has triumphantly secured three prestigious titles at The Asset awards this year, including Best Structured Trade Finance, Best New Economy, and Best NBFI Bank in the APAC region, owing to its successful rollout of Global Hausbank services for clients.

The financial institution clinched the titles for Best Structured Trade Finance, Best New Economy, and Best Non-Bank Financial Institution Bank in APAC this year, with its Global Hausbank service being the winning factor at The Asset awards.

In a grand celebration of banking excellence, United Overseas Bank (UOB) has been recognised as the Best Structured Trade Finance Bank in Asia Pacific at the prestigious The Asset awards 2024. The bank also clinched the title of Best Risk Management Bank, further solidifying its position as a leading financial institution in the region.

The awards, which are highly coveted in the banking industry, are based on a rigorous evaluation process that includes client feedback from The Asset's Annual Benchmark Survey, in-depth client interviews, and detailed awards pitches. This year, UOB's success was particularly noted for its growth with 'new economy' clients in Asia Pacific.

UOB's triumph in the structured trade finance category was not a one-off achievement. The bank demonstrated consistent excellence across various markets, with the Best Trade Finance Solution being awarded in seven markets. Furthermore, the bank's Best Cash Management Solution was recognised in 13 markets, underscoring its comprehensive strength in digital banking services.

Matthew Moodey, Head of Trade Finance & Lending for Asia Pacific, was also honoured with the Structured Trade Finance Banker of the Year award, a testament to his leadership and strategic vision. In total, 19 other colleagues and teams from UOB were recognised in the awards, a clear indication of the bank's commitment to its employees and its services.

UOB's strategy of doubling down on its growth regions, specifically ASEAN and key markets like North Asia and South Asia, seems to be paying off. The bank showed particular strength in these regions, as reflected in the awards for Best in Treasury and Working Capital-New Economy and Best in Treasury and Working Capital-Non Bank Financial Institutions.

In related awards, UOB was recognised as Corporate & Investment Bank of the Year - Singapore, leading a wide range of financing transactions across ASEAN. Other notable banks, such as Crédit Agricole CIB, BNP Paribas, and ING, were also acknowledged for their contributions in structured finance and trade finance in APAC and beyond.

As UOB continues to grow and expand its Corporate Bank, its focus on delivering world-class products with a commitment to sustainability remains unwavering. With these accolades under its belt, UOB is well-positioned for continued and sustainable growth in the years to come.

  1. The recognition of UOB as the Best Risk Management Bank indicates their proficiency in managing financial risks, a crucial aspect for any thriving business.
  2. UOB's achievement of being the Best Structured Trade Finance Bank in Asia Pacific highlights their exceptional skills in managing finance, a key factor in the success of any business operations.
