Besides financing vacations, other popular reasons for saving include building up financial reserves (39%) and preparing for retirement (32%). The hard truth is that nearly two-thirds (64%) of participants admit to feeling concerned about their future monetary stability, with 42% having to dip into their savings last year.
The survey shines a light on the way people are becoming more cautious with their spending in response to inflation. Industries like clothing and accessories, restaurants, and consumer goods are seeing significant cutbacks. More than half of the respondents are tightening their belts on hobby and leisure items such as sporting goods and electronics.
