Traffic Blockade Extending from Halle-Neustadt Intersection to Halle-Süd Motorway Triangle
The Autobahn GmbH des Bundes has announced a significant maintenance project on the A143 between Halle-Neustadt and Halle-South, which will result in a full closure of the section from September 18, 2025, until approximately the end of October 2025.
The closure affects not only the main stretch between Halle-Neustadt and Halle-South but also the junctions at Teutschenthal and Holleben. The construction work will commence with the southbound carriageway, and during the construction period, on- and off-ramp traffic will be directed via signed detours.
The priority for this maintenance work is due to the now 21-year lifespan of the roadway. The works include resurfacing of the carriageway and junctions, and after the works, road markings will be carried out.
One wide lane per direction will be available during the construction period on the 2+0 traffic management system. The on-ramp of the junction Halle-Neustadt will have traffic management changes, but no closure.
The main detour for road users will be via the A38 to the Schafstadt junction. It is worth noting that the "Pappelgrund" service area is also affected by the closure.
During the construction of the southbound carriageway, traffic in the construction area will be directed single-lane on the northbound carriageway using the 2+0 traffic management system. The exact start date of the northbound carriageway renewal phase is yet to be specified due to weather dependency.
After the completion of the works on the southbound carriageway, the northbound carriageway will undergo renewal. The upper structure of both carriageways will be renewed over a length of 7.5 kilometers each.
All road users are kindly requested to drive carefully and considerately in the construction area for their safety and that of the workers on site. The company responsible for the comprehensive maintenance work on the A143 is the Autobahn GmbH des Bundes.
We advise road users to plan their journeys accordingly and to follow the signed detours during this period to ensure a smooth commute.
