Trains in the area encounter delays, reaching Krasnodar resort behind schedule
In a recurring pattern of drone-related disruptions to rail traffic, an incident at Lisky station in Russia has caused significant delays for over fifteen passenger trains. The disruption, which occurred around 2:50 AM, resulted in power loss at the station, causing a halt in train movement.
The affected trains primarily operate in the Krasnodar Krai region, with three of the delayed trains heading to Sochi: No562 Moscow - Imeretinsky Kurort, No472 Moscow - Adler, and No241 Kirov - Anapa. The Federal Passenger Company (FPC) reported on the delayed passenger trains, but as of this writing, no specific details or updates on the status of these trains have been provided.
This incident comes amidst a series of drone attacks on Russian railway infrastructure that have become notably frequent and significant in 2025. Since July 19, at least seven documented attacks have disrupted rail networks across multiple regions, including the Volgograd region, Rostov region, Voronezh region, and Krasnodar Krai.
The scale and frequency of these attacks have resulted in delays affecting over 220 trains. Individual incidents have caused delays ranging from several hours to over five hours. For instance, in the Voronezh region, over 70 trains were delayed up to 5.5 hours due to a drone crash that disrupted the overhead power network.
The purpose of these attacks appears to be strategically aimed at disrupting Russia’s rail-based military supply routes, hampering troop and equipment movements, especially towards occupied territories and frontline areas. The Krasnodar region, being part of the Southern Federal District—the main target area for these drone strikes—faces active disruption risks to rail traffic.
Unfortunately, this incident at Lisky station has also resulted in a track worker being injured and hospitalized. As the investigation and repair work continue, passengers are advised to check the status of their trains with the FPC for the latest updates.

- The recent incident at Lisky station, involving a drone attack, has escalated the general-news topic of drone attacks on Russian railway infrastructure, particularly in the Krasnodar Krai region, which also impacted automotive transportation, as several trains heading to Sochi, including No562 Moscow - Imeretinsky Kurort, No472 Moscow - Adler, and No241 Kirov - Anapa, encountered delays.
- The influence of these drone attacks extends beyond transportation, as finance is also affected, with the Federal Passenger Company (FPC) reporting delays to over 220 trains nationwide, causing significant financial losses.
- In light of the high number of documented drone attacks on Russian railway infrastructure, the industry is concerned about the potential impact on the broader financial sector, specifically the transportation industry, and the safety of personnel, as the Lisky station incident resulted in a track worker being hospitalized.
