Truck parking restrictions on Verbandsstraße: What's the location?

In a bid to address ongoing issues caused by parked trucks on the hard shoulder of the federal highway B7, the District Council of Hohenlimburg has decided to establish a no-parking zone on the association road between Wannebachstraße and Linneufer. The decision, which aims to deter tractor units and trailers from parking on the hard shoulder, has received support from Straßen NRW.

The no-parking zone is intended to address a series of concerns, including litter in the bushes and noise during maneuvering caused by trucks parked on the hard shoulder. Additionally, parked trucks have reportedly damaged the drainage ditch in that area for about 150 meters.

While no no-parking signs are visible as of yet, the order for the no-parking zone lies with the traffic authority of the city of Hagen. The city will take the necessary measures to implement and enforce the zone.

It's important to note that the association road is a federal highway under the jurisdiction of Straßen NRW. Interestingly, a similar no-parking zone is already in place on Donnerkuhle (B7), where the situation has shown some improvement despite occasional non-compliance.

The no-parking zone on Donnerkuhle (B7) primarily aims to deter numerous tractor units and trailers that park for nights, days, or weeks. In a related incident, a 74-year-old Skoda driver collided with a parked truck near the intersection to Linneufer on the association road last April.

Personal, daily observations show non-compliance with the no-parking zone on Donnerkuhle (B7), but the city of Hagen will order and enforce a no-parking zone on the association road to ensure compliance. Parked trucks on the association road are considered dangerous due to their potential to obstruct traffic and cause accidents.

The District Council of Hohenlimburg must forward the request to the city of Hagen for the implementation of the no-parking zone. However, the specific date for the implementation of the no-parking zone on the association road between Wannebachstraße and Linneufer has not been announced yet. For accurate and up-to-date information, it is recommended to contact the local municipal authorities or the relevant traffic or parking management department in Hohenlimburg directly.

In light of the ongoing issues, the District Council of Hohenlimburg plans to extend the no-parking zone to the association road between Wannebachstraße and Linneufer, aiming to address concerns in adjacent industries such as finance and transportation. The extended zone, if implemented, could potentially reduce the risk of accidents and congestion caused by parked trucks, benefiting both road users and businesses within the area.
