The Viereichenhautunnel in Stuttgart is set to reopen to single-lane traffic on Saturday morning, despite ongoing work on traffic technology within the tunnel. This partial reopening is aimed at providing an alternative route during the Christopher Street Day (CSD) event on Rotebühlstraße.

Due to the ongoing repair work, a speed limit of 30 km/h and a reduction to one lane in each direction will be in effect on the affected section of the tunnel. The reopening will only be restricted to traffic between Schattenring and Heslacher Tunnel on the B14.

The city of Stuttgart has announced this reopening, stating that it is intended to maintain traffic flow during the CSD event. However, no information has been provided about the specific timeline for the partial opening of the Viereichenhautunnel or the nature of the ongoing work on traffic technology.

Until the partial reopening, traffic is being widely diverted away from the Schattenring and city center. Road users are advised to avoid the area and follow detours. After the partial reopening, all drivers are asked to observe the temporary traffic restrictions and use alternative city access routes when possible.

It's worth noting that no information has been provided about the condition or safety measures taken in the Viereichenhautunnel following the resolution of the problem in the Heslacher Tunnel, or the impact of the reopening on traffic congestion or travel times in the area.

The Heslacher Tunnel, which was previously closed in both directions from Thursday evening to Friday due to disruptions, has reportedly had its problem resolved, according to the city's statement. No further information was provided about the nature of the disruptions or the ongoing work on traffic technology in the Viereichenhautunnel.

The ongoing work on traffic technology within the Viereichenhautunnel might affect the finance sector, given the potential impact on business transactions and commuting patterns in the city. In the meantime, public-transit and transportation options may need to accommodate increased ridership due to temporary road closures and detours during the CSD event.
