In an exciting development for the African music industry, BMG UK has announced a partnership with Nooks Recordings, a Lagos-based music publishing company. This alliance underscores the incredible talent that Africa has to offer and promises to bring a fresh perspective to the global music scene.

At the helm of Nooks Recordings is a trio of industry veterans: Favour Ogbolu, Morrin Oluwatobi, and Laolu Aranmolate. Favour Ogbolu, also known as Stunner, has made a name for himself by managing artist/producer Ckay and has become a prominent figure in the Afrobeats scene. Morrin Oluwatobi, on the other hand, is at the helm of the management for Blaqbonez, one of Africa's rising rap artists. Laolu Aranmolate, the head of business for Nooks Recordings, currently manages producer Yinka Bernie.

The partnership between Nooks Recordings and BMG UK aims to discover hidden talent, invest in their development, and provide a pathway to a global network. Morrin Oluwatobi expresses excitement about bringing Nooks Recordings' expertise to the global stage with BMG, while Lisa Cullington, VP creative (Publishing) UK, is delighted to be teaming up with the independent Lagos-based company.

Nooks Recordings focuses on music producers and composers outside of the mainstream. Their first joint signing is producer BMH, whose work with Ckay, including the track Emiliana, has already made waves in the industry. The partnership with BMG UK is expected to further propel BMH's career and open up new opportunities for other undiscovered talents.

While information about Nooks Recordings and its co-founders directly related to the African music industry is limited, the company's focus on nurturing and promoting lesser-known talents is a welcome addition to the industry. With the global administrative resources of BMG at their disposal, Nooks Recordings is poised to harness the potential of music creatives and provide an international platform for their work.
