Ukraine Strikes Key Russian Targets, Including Major Oil Refineries
Ukrainian forces have struck multiple strategic targets in Russia, including key military infrastructure and industrial facilities, in a series of coordinated overnight attacks. The strikes, announced by the Ukrainian General Staff on October 4, have caused significant damage and disruption.
One of the most notable targets was the Orsknefteorgsintez oil refinery in Orenburg, Russia's largest with an annual processing capacity of around 18.4 million tons of crude oil. The facility was hit by a long-range drone strike, causing significant damage.
In the Donetsk region, the command post of Russia's 8th Army in temporarily occupied territory was also targeted and hit. Meanwhile, in the Kursk region, a Garmon radar complex and a transport-loading vehicle from the Iskander missile system were struck and damaged.
The Ukrainian attacks extended to the Leningrad region, where the Kirishinefteorgsintez oil refinery was hit, with explosions and fires reported. Additionally, a Buyan-M class small missile ship near Lake Onega in the Republic of Karelia sustained damage after being targeted by Ukrainian forces.
These strikes are part of Ukraine's ongoing efforts to systematically destroy Russian military infrastructure and degrade its military and economic potential. The Ukrainian General Staff has confirmed that the overnight attacks were conducted on multiple high-value targets, indicating a strategic and coordinated approach to disrupt Russian capabilities.
