Rental debt avoidance for the vast majority of residents in Thuringia - Unpaid rental obligations remain a largely neglected concern for most residents of Thuringia.

The average ancillary costs for the same companies are already at 3.16 euros per square meter -, with energy costs and regional differences affecting these amounts considerably.

If a tenant fails to pay rent over an extended period, the association director for municipal and cooperative companies calls this "a very rare occurrence." In 2024, tenancy terminations due to unpaid rent or other misconduct amounted to only about 1,000 instances, with this figure decreasing from 1,600 in 2015 to 930 in 2021.
