Voluntary Separation Offer Extended by VW to Eligible Employees
The automotive world is in a state of flux, and Volkswagen finds itself squarely in the center of this transformation. With an eye towards the future, the company is aiming to shed around 35,000 jobs by 2030, with 20,000 of these already agreed upon and yet to be implemented (our previous report).
Banking on the "Perspective Workshop"
For the workers affected by this overhaul, Volkswagen is introducing a novel program: the "Perspective Workshop." This special department is designed to help employees reinvent their careers without immediately facing financial hardships when their positions are made obsolete or chosen to be voluntarily relinquished.
As per Volkswagen's confirmation to the "Braunschweigische Zeitung," transition to the "Perspective Workshop" involves being assigned to a transfer cost center while maintaining the existing work schedule, salary grade, and salary group, enabling them to focus on professional reorientation and qualification as necessary.
Life After Volkswagen? A New Chapter Awaits!
The "Perspective Workshop" offers individualized career advice and education opportunities or training programs to help employees explore new career paths – either within Volkswagen or with other companies, even in the Wolfsburg/Braunschweig region. Participants are also provided with "job coaches" who work with them to develop a personalized development plan.
For the affected employees, the "Perspective Workshop" presents an opportunity for turning the page and starting anew. The program is designed to offer personalized, supportive career counseling and guidance to help them negotiate this challenging transition, especially for those who have spent decades working for the company.
Stay tuned to the "Braunschweigische Zeitung" for updates on the "Perspective Workshop" progress and the agency responsible for managing this unique initiative.
