VW Group's Baumert Steps Down; Reiche Takes Helm of Production and Logistics
After nearly three decades and a decade-long tenure as production and logistics chief, Arthur Baumert is set to leave VW Group on August 1. Stepping into his role is Steffen Reiche, a seasoned executive with almost three decades of international experience at VW Group.
Baumert's departure follows a significant period leading the production and logistics division. His successor, Steffen Reiche, currently serves as executive vice-president of production and logistics at SAIC-VW in Shanghai. Reiche's extensive experience includes a stint as CEO and president of Volkswagen de México, where he oversaw production across the North American region.
Carsten Intra, chairman of the board of management at VWCV, welcomes Reiche's appointment. He believes Reiche's expertise will provide a crucial boost to VWCV's production and logistics future. The exact start date for Reiche's new role has not been disclosed, and the successor to Baumert at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles in Shanghai is yet to be announced.
