Walmart's Ecommerce Expansion Boosts Ads on TikTok, Roku, and Snap
Walmart has significantly expanded its ecommerce platform, now powering ads on popular apps like TikTok, Roku, and Snap. This move follows a 30% increase in advertising revenue in Q3, driven by growing sales and customer satisfaction.
The retail giant's advertising arm, Walmart Connect, has made it easier for retailers to promote their products. The self-service platform allows sellers to upload product SKUs without waiting for approval, speeding up the advertising process.
This convenience has attracted many new sellers to Walmart's marketplace. In Q3 alone, the number of U.S. sellers surged by over 50%, bringing the total to around 370 million SKUs available. The increased sales and improved customer service have led to a significant boost in Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV).
Walmart's strategic expansion into advertising, along with its growing marketplace, has resulted in a 30% increase in advertising revenue. By connecting retail, fulfillment, and advertising, Walmart is opening new opportunities in health and wellness, financial services, and beyond.
