Walpersdorf's L719 is being re-released

The L719 road between Walpersdorf and Volkholz is set to reopen tonight, marking the end of the first phase of its construction project. The road repair work, which started in April 2024, was completed ahead of schedule, according to the State Road Authority.

The renovation of the stretch between Walpersdorf and the area behind the coal-fired power plant cost 5.5 million euros. The State Road Authority announced the reopening of the L719, attributing the early completion to the cooperation of all involved.

Initially, the road repair work was scheduled to be completed by late summer. However, the work has been underway for an unspecified period, and the road has been clear for some time. The road repair work was completed earlier than expected, much to the relief of the local community.

The early completion of the road repair work marks a significant milestone in the construction project. Planning for the two further construction phases towards Siegquelle is currently underway. The exact timeline for these phases has yet to be announced.

The reopening of the L719 comes as good news for the residents and businesses in the area, who have been affected by the road repairs. The road's reopening will help restore normal traffic flow and ease transportation challenges in the region.

The State Road Authority encourages everyone to drive safely and follow traffic regulations as the road reopens. The authority thanks the public for their patience and understanding during the road repair work.
