Wyoming Department of Transportation's Transportation Grant Application Approved by Sheridan Commission

Sheridan County is deliberating the submission of a grant application for federal funding for the Big Horn Transportation Alternatives study and plan project. The application, if successful, would secure nearly $150,000 in funding through the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP), administered by the Wyoming Department of Transportation.

The County Engineer, Ken Muller, has provided details on the application and its purpose. The project, located within Sheridan County, is related to transportation alternatives, although no further specific details about the project or its goals have been disclosed at this time.

If the application is approved, the county will need to contribute local matching funds, approximately $14,000, to complement the federal funding. The Sheridan County Commissioners have approved the submission of the application for federal funding, signalling their support for the project.

As of late June to early July 2025, the grant application is under consideration by the county, indicating that the project is actively seeking TAP funding but has not yet secured it. The status of the TAP application is that Sheridan County is currently considering submitting the grant application for federal funding, but the application has not been finalized or awarded at this point.

As the project progresses, it is expected that more information about the Big Horn Transportation Alternatives study and plan project will become available, providing insights into the transportation alternatives that the project aims to implement in Sheridan County.
